Wayne General Hospital takes pride in providing superior patient care in a family-oriented environment. Patient Financial Resources highlights the many types of support available to our patients. We encourage all patients to learn about the cost of their healthcare prior to any planned visits to the hospital.
Hospital Charges
Wayne General Hospital is committed to patient care and pricing transparency. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) require (FY 2019 IPPS/LTCH PPS Final Rule: CMS-1694-F and CMS-1694-CN2) hospitals to post a list of their standard charges online in a machine-readable format. We have done so via the patient price estimator.
Hospital charges represent all itemized services provided and do not necessarily represent final pricing, which is based on your insurance company's contract with the hospital. Your amount owed ("out-of-pocket" costs) will be a percentage portion of that adjusted, contracted price. If you have any questions about these documents, please contact us at 601-735-7105.
Self-Pay Quotes/Estimates
If you currently do not have health insurance and will be paying for your services completely out of pocket, you can contact us for a self-pay quote or estimate of the cost of services by calling our Business Office at 601-735-7105. The Business Office is open Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
The deposit amount for the procedure is strictly a deposit amount and is based on a normal uncomplicated procedure, estimated prior to services rendered. Charges on the final bill may differ significantly due to medications ordered, supplies utilized, medical complications or extended stays. The deposit amount does not include fees for physicians' services, including but not limited to anesthesiologists, radiologists, pathologists, ER physicians, or other attending physicians' fees. This is a deposit for the facility at Wayne General Hospital.
CMS Price Transparency/Patient Estimates
This information is provided in order to comply with CMS Price Transparency regulations. This information is a base set of charges which might be utilized for patients receiving services at Wayne General Hospital. The exact charges for individual patients will vary due to variations in each patient’s care and the services and supplies received. Any patients’ out-of-pocket amounts will be finalized based on the charges incurred and any discounts which might apply, e.g., insurance, uninsured, and financial assistance. Generally, any applicable discounts are applied after services are rendered and applicable insurance claims, if any, are settled.
Charge Transparency
Charge TransparencyHospital price transparency helps Americans know the cost of a hospital item or service before receiving it. Starting January 1, 2021, each hospital operating in the United States will be required to provide clear, accessible pricing information online about the items and services they provide in two ways:1. As a comprehensive machine-readable file with all items and services.2. In a display of shoppable services in a consumer-friendly format that will generate a price estimate. This information will make it easier for consumers to shop and compare prices across hospitals and estimate the cost of care before going to the hospital. The estimator does not include specific insurance deductibles, co-pays, out-of-pocket costs, or other insurance-related items concerning your benefits. It also does not include any professional fees, physician, therapist, room charges, drugs or etc. related to the particular service. Please note, this is an estimate and is subject to change. For more information about the cost of your care, please contact our patient financial services staff at (601)735-5151.
If you have any questions about these documents, please contact us at 601-735-5151.
