Meet Dr. Kessa Mauras
Dr. Mauras is a board-certified podiatric physician whose passion is wound healing, amputation prevention and limb salvage. Her goal has always been to use her education and skills to serve an underserved population.
Dr. Mauras was born and raised in New York City, she completed her undergraduate studies at Hartwick College in rural upstate New York, and graduated from the California School of Podiatric Medicine. Her student clinical year was spent at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, WA working alongside excellent clinicians, surgeons and researchers serving active duty military personnel, veterans and their families. Her Podiatric Medicine and surgical training led her to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in New York City where she had extensive training in wound healing, trauma, surgery, and research while having the opportunity to lead her team on multiple occasions.
After extensive training, Dr. Mauras opted to practice in a rural community in Oregon for nine years, and has spent the last few years in underserved communities in the Mississippi Delta.
